How AURYXIA Works

AURYXIA® (ferric citrate) binds with dietary phosphate to form an insoluble ferric-phosphate compound

01

The ferric iron component of AURYXIA binds with dietary phosphate in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and precipitates as ferric phosphate

02

This compound is insoluble, and is excreted in the stool

03

Additionally, AURYXIA has been shown to increase serum iron parameters through systemic absorption, which is managed by the body’s GI regulatory mechanisms1

FormulationEach AURYXIA® (ferric citrate) tablet contains 210 mg of ferric iron, equivalent to 1 g of ferric citrate.
