Your healthcare provider prescribed you AURYXIA® (ferric citrate), a phosphate binder, because you have a high amount of phosphate in your blood

AURYXIA (ah-RICKS-ee-ah) is given to adult patients who have chronic kidney disease who are on dialysis. Unlike other phosphate binders, AURYXIA is the only phosphate binder that contains iron your body may absorb.
Inside your body, ferric citrate binds (attaches) to phosphorus from the food you eat and helps remove it, helping to manage your hyperphosphatemia (HI-per-FOZ-fa-TEE-mee-uh).

What is hyperphosphatemia?

It’s when your phosphorus levels are too high. When your kidneys are healthy, they remove extra phosphorus from your body. When kidneys fail, phosphorus can build up, causing hyperphosphatemia.
It is important to manage your hyperphosphatemia, even if you don’t feel any symptoms.
